GE Foundation Scholarships- Institute of International Education (Mexico)

In June, five students from across Canada were named winners of the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program. MacEwan Bachelor of Commerce student Trent Charles was one of the five.
Trent applied to the scholarship program in March after learning of it through the MacEwan scholarship database and through a flyer at the university’s Aboriginal Education Centre.
Pornlert Lattanan, President and CEO, GE Thailand, a representative of the GE Foundation, the philanthropic organization of General Electric, congratulated seven of the GE Foundation Scholarship-Leaders Program Cohort X grantees, who graduated in academic year 2010. The scholarship is provided for those who study in majors including; accounting or management, science environment, chemistry, economics, computer apply, physics, and engineering. The scholarship covers the expense from the second year to the year of graduation. It’s offered to 10 institutes, including, Kasetsart University, Khon Kaen University, Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi, Thammasat University, Mahidol University, Prince of Songkla University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok, and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Lad Krabang.
TORONTO – June 21, 2011— GE and the Institute of International Education (IIE) has announced its five 2011 GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders regional winners. For the first time since its inception, the program is exclusively offering financial support and skills development opportunities to Canadian-resident Aboriginal individuals.
