President of Mexico Recognizes GE Foundation Scholar-Leader

On May 21, 2008 Maria Teresa San Roman and Tonatiuh Damien from the IIE Latin America office in Mexico City accompanied GE Foundation Scholar-Leader, Marcos Antonio Hernández Pérez, to the National Palace of Mexico. Marco was given an award by the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, for being the best student of his generation at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. Recipients of the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program are awarded grants because of academic excellence, leadership ability and financial need.
